TRAIL CREW MEMBER JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Trail Crew position is focused on building and maintaining multi-use trails for the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah (TFNU) in and around Weber County.
Job Title: Trail Crew
Job Location: Weber County, Utah
Position Type: 30-40 hours per week; Seasonal from April – end of September (approx.)
Wage: $18-$20 per hour, DOE
The Trail Crew reports directly to the Trail Lead. Duties shall include but are not limited to:
Job Description:
● Ability to perform a wide variety of heavy manual labor duties for extended periods of time, and often under adverse weather conditions and in various climates.
● Ability to carry tools and equipment from vehicle parking areas to work areas which could be up to a mile away.
● Ability to adapt to the surrounding work environment and conditions that can change frequently.
● Maintain and repair hand and power tools and other equipment as necessary.
● Must enforce the use of appropriate safety procedures in all tasks.
● Previous trail building or maintenance experience preferred.
● Must provide own transportation to work location.
● Must provide own work boots, gloves, and safety glasses.
● Hand tools will be provided.
Professional Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license
Able to pass employment background check. Understanding of trail building and maintenance.
Proficient in using manual and power tools.
Ability to assist in large volunteer events. Physically agile and dexterous.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects. Detail orientated and aptitude to problem solve.
Well-organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
Skills to collaborate with staff, board members, volunteers, and partners. Ability to work independently.

TRAIL CREW LEAD JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Trail Work Lead is the primary position focused on trail work and trail maintenance duties for the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah (TFNU).
Job Title: Trail Crew Lead
Job Location: Ogden, UT
Position Type: March - October: 30-40 hours per week (approx.)
Wage: $22-$27 per hour, DOE
The Trail Work Lead reports directly to the Executive Director. Duties shall include but are not limited to:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist in planning work for seasonal trail crew.
Implement training for all new hires.
Insure safe working environment for trail crew.
Keep accurate records of time spent on jobs for Lead and crew.
Ensure machinery is maintained and working properly.
Oversee large volunteer work parties.
Work with county, federal, and private landowners to assure compliance.
Work on design, engineering, and construction of future trails and pathways.
Tracks and ensures budget/spending are accurate and followed.
Professional Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to pass employment background check.
• Understanding of trail building and maintenance.
• Basic civil construction knowledge.
• Ability to repair machinery in the field.
• GIS knowledge helpful.
• Proficient in using manual and power tools.
• Ability to organize large volunteer events.
• Proficient in record keeping using excel, word or similar.
• Physically agile and dexterous.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
• Detail orientated and aptitude to problem solve.
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and proactive.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make timely decisions when faced with competing priorities. Defend those decisions in a composed manner.
