2024 TFNU Board Retreat

January 18th, 2024

Each year, the staff & Board of TFNU get together for an evening of teambuilding, celebration, evaluation & planning for the year to come. 2024 brings with it a change in our Board leadership along with the addition of a handful of Board & Advisory Board members. Our 2024 retreat was held in the Union Grill’s event space on January 17th. After a fun icebreaker game & review of our accomplishments in 2023, our Board was split up to discuss, prioritize and brainstorm ideas for a few of our projects/events that are currently in the works for 2024.

TFNU Executive Leadership Changes

Mike Appleby has served as our phenomenal Board Chair for the past three years. He and his wife, Sheryl, are two of the most active trail users out there! Mike’s term as Chair ended last year and he will be staying on the board serving in the Past Chair for at least the next year. We can’t thank Mike enough for his leadership and support!

Mark Bunker has stepped up to serve as the 2024 Board Chair. Mark is a retired as an Engineering & Plant Manager at Autoliv and is actively enjoying retirement. He brings a host of leadership, business savvy, team building & years of trail use to the table and we are thrilled to have him.

Jim Skaggs will serve as our 2024 Vice Chair. Jim is currently employed as a Supplier Quality Engineer with JBT AeroTech and in addition to his passion for trail running, Jim is also the owner / producer of the wildly popular Buffalo Run Trail Race held annually on Antelope Island.

TFNU Board Member Additions

We had an amazing response last year when we put out the call for Board Applicants and because of that, we gained some fabulous trail users whom we’re thrilled to be adding to our Board.
