Pineview West Trail, dedicated on National Trails Day, June 3, 2000, is a leisurely and scenic walk or ride along the Pineview Reservoir's shore. It is also groomed for cross-country skiing in the winter.
 
Trailhead location:
Access this trail from the Pineview Trailhead (also known as Windsurfer Beach), off Route 158 about 2 miles east of Pineview Dam. Also access this trail from the North Arm Trailhead, further north off Route 158.
 
Trail history:
Pineview West trail was built by the U.S. Forest Service in 1999/2000.
 
Animals you may see:
See the nesting ospreys, over the water on the north end of the reservoir, starting in mid spring through late summer. Also see moose, hawks, hummingbirds, sandhill cranes, and lots more wildlife.
 
Plants you may see:
Great wildflowers throughout the spring.
